So Far no Progression of Disease after 3 Years

I take this product to delay incipient macular degeneration at the direction of my ophthalmologist. I have a very thorough ophthalmic exam each year at around this time, and the results of my retinal scan today showed a rather remarkable stasis when compared with each of the previous two years.I have not found a better price on Preservision with Lutein anywhere else but I wish that this item were available for Amazon Subscription delivery. It is my single largest unreimburseable prescription expense, and the low prices on Amazon are very meaningful to me.My doctor also suggests Billberry Concentrated Extract with Lutein, available on Amazon.com under the brand name "Spring Valley". I take two 1000mg caps each day. Spring Valley Softgels Bilberry

Vitamins that cause cancer

I ordered this supplement expecting nutrients that support Eye health. What I got was something with synthetic Vitamin E, dl-alpha (dl = SYNTHETIC), which has been proven to increase your risk for CANCER. Nowhere in the description did it disclose, SYNTHETIC. Only NATURAL Vitamin E,d-alpha, is good for you, and it does help PREVENT cancer. Synthetic E Reacts poorly with Iron which should also be taken in a natural (Ferrous Fumarate) form. I am not at all pleased.Just remember in Vitamin E that the L in dl stands for lousy.

I discovered I had a 50% chance of loosing my sight so my Dr. put me on this. 2 a day to save my sight, I don't care what it costs. Softgels are small so very easy to take.

ONLY 2 MG OF LUTEIN!!!

There's only 2 mg of lutein/Zeaxanthin in each tablet! The rest is typical stuff found in your everyday vitamin pills like Vitamin A,C,E, calcium, etc. I'm upset that the seller did not disclose the supplement facts. I wonder why there are so many good reviews! I can get 20mg of lutein for the same price on Amazon. I'm returning these.

I have been using these vitamins for about two anda half months, and I love them, I have noticed agreat difference in my vision and I just had aneye doctor appt last week and my eye doctornoticed great results as well, I have my husbandon them also and he loves them. we are 44yrs old,but they are good for any age. I will definitelycontinue to use these vitamins and I definitelyrecommend them.

Great Lutein

My husband was diagnosed with macular degeneration & was having a lot of trouble reading. We added this lutein along with several other vision improving supplements & he has already noticed a change in about a month. He plans to keep taking lutein & this was a good value.

gives my middle aged eyes a little help

I have been taken lutein off and on for years (off when I run out and cannot find it in the stores). I attribute the fact that I am 57 and can still read all but very small print w/o reading glasses to lutein. It can't be good genes since all my brothers and sisters cannot read without reading glasses. Occasionally when the print is very small or my eyes are very tired, I used +1 or +1.25 which are the lowest strength reading glasses available.Since I have very thin retinas and, before using lutein I had experienced a very minute detachment, but no detachments since using lutein, I am going to keep taking it and hoping it will keep my eyes stable and working well. I am a visually oriented person so my eyesight is extremely important to me.I like liquid softgels better than uncoated tablets offered by other brands.

high potency eye vitamin

I have recently been diagnosed with eye muscular degeneration. This seems to be the vitamin with the highest potency for the health of the eyes. There is conciderable research being done for this eye desease and as far as I know no treatment has been endorsed by the FDA, however there seems to be some success with treatment with these vitamins. I have been taking them for about six months and my eyes dont't seem to have gotten any worse.

Icaps are wonderful vitamins for your eyes. I have the beginning of macular degeneration and my doctor recommended these. Her comment was that everyone should start taking these at birth and she would be out of business. Thank you for product and the great value.

Expensive and not the correct formula for age related eye disease

There are lots of different Icaps formulas. This is just a very expensive multiple vitamin sold under the iCaps name and is not the formula for eyes. If you want the one for age related eye disease, do not get this one, get"Icaps Areads Formula Eye Vitamin and Mineral Supplement"Areds stands for Age Related Eye Disease.I wonder where all the 5 star ratings came from for this formula. Sometimes I suspect that companies get their employees to log into Amazon and give positive ratings.

after multiple surgeries, this stuff has been a godsend

Eighteen months ago, I was at a point where I could no longer look at a computer screen without my eyes literally ACHING. My vision was increasingly blurred, and reading was beyond my tolerance, other than for a few moments at a time. This was serious, serious stuff, since I'm an advanced graduate student and have several hundred pages of text to read each week! I finally couldn't tolerate the pain and went in to see my optometrist -- who discovered I had significant corneal scarring from severe dry eye syndrome. Left untreated, I was destined to lose my eyesight. I was immediately scheduled for two corneal surgeries, and I was prescribed Restasis, oil-based lubricants, and a thicker ointment for nighttime lubrication. Plus, my doctor recommended Theratears.For months, I literally applied drops every half hour throughout the day, and I faithfully used my Restasis and took these Theratears. My reading materials were enlarged to get me through my semester as I awaited surgery. It was a scary time, and I was discouraged, wondering if this would ever improve.A specialist removed the corneal scarring, and he echoed the sentiments of my optometrist about the use of all of these lubricants AND the Theratears. "It really does make a difference," he assured me. Worse case scenario, he added that we could consider tear duct plugs, if these measures didn't help.Eighteen months later, I've cut back to once-a-day use of the Restasis, and my multiple-times daily drops are a thing of the past. I still use the night ointment, but otherwise, I rely on Theratears.If you have severe dry eye syndrome, try this. My specialist even swears by them!

all i can say is wow

i saw these at walmart sometime ago, but i was skeptical about trying them so i passed them up.i went through just about every eye drop on the shelf and none seemed to help me too much. i was suffering fromsevere dry eye. Some days it was so bad i could hardly keep my eyes open and would blink so much that my eyelids and eyeballswould hurt at the end of the day. i went to see an eye doctor and had no luck getting much help with my condition.He wanted to run more tests which i could not afford and send me on my way with a baggy full of more eye drops.I finally read up on thera tears omega 3 capsules and was surprised to see so many people talk highly about them. So i said tomyself, i've tried everything else, might as well give these a shot.I am about 2 and a half almost 3 weeks into taking these supplements, and i already can feel positive results.I hope im not jinxing myself lol, but i was using artifical tears about once an hour. I havent used them in almost 3 days now!i will keep taking these and write a follow up review in a month and see if they still help me with my dry eyes.I am very greatful for these pills and will most likely continue to take them for years to come.One side note, i read that some people complained about the fishy burps and aftertaste.I stowed mine in the freezer, problem solved! No fish burps or aftertaste!

Thera Tears Nutrition helps my dry-eye problem

I have a problem with dry eyes bad enough to change my ability to read an eye chart significantly. Taking these supplements seems to keep them more moistened and the ingredients are oils I've been encouraged to take anyway.
