Based on the very positive reviews on this site and others, I bought 5 of these bottles (from MedOp) for my 80-year-old father who suffers from a very severe macula degeneration, hoping to also replace his One-a-Day vitamin with this capsule formula. Upon receiving the bottles, I noticed that the packaging job unimpressive and the capsules poorly done with a few of defect/damaged capsules in the bottle. So, I decided to try it myself first just in case. Boy, I am so glad I did... Here is what I found:1. The advertised content is actually per every 4 capsules--the manufacturer neglected to point out that the advertised serving size here is actually 4 very large capsules2. Given the capsule size and the questionable quality, I decided to take only 2 (half of the serving size) the first time and with meal. For the next 5-6 hours I was bothered with strong herbal smell/taste in my throat, and an unsettled stomach with occasional regurgitation (of acid). This is unusual to me because my stomach usually handles strong medicine, including pain pills and antibiotics, very well. Not believing that my stomach could actually be easily irritated by this capsule of herbal nature, I tried 2 capsules again this morning, and I was constantly reminded by the taste and upset stomach again most of the day....So, beware of the claims and make sure your stomach can really handle this product--don't make the same mistake I made by purchasing multiple (expensive) bottles of this material and get stuck.

This product was recommended to me by two much admired and respected eye doctors. I am taking my second bottle of this product. I have not 'seen' a marked influence with my eyes but I appear to have more energy and less body aches. I am more alert and mood is better. I have fibromyalgia as well as minor eye conditions and consider any help at all to have enriched my life. I find paying this price for vitamins difficult in my financial condition but for the time being I am willing to make the sacrifice for the benefits. If this is a legit company, MaxiVision Ocular Formula will be pulled immediately based upon valid, peer-reviewed scientific evidence indicating a very real hazard at low doses of reveratrol. Originally an untested, speculatory addition to all sorts of quack anti-aging products, we now know it has a dual nature and potential for great harm.
